Updated: Apr 19, 2021

Are you ready to have a taste of Greek cuisine?

Here is a recipe for Chicken (can also be done with pork) roasted in the oven with potatoes. It serves around two people (Greek generous portions) and it is a common dish in Greece.

Ingredients:

2-3 cloves of garlic finely chopped

500 grams of chicken in pieces or a whole small chicken or pork (steaks)

4 medium to big potatoes

Greek olive oil (1 cup)

2 tablespoons of mild standard yellow mustard

1 big tablespoon of Greek honey

6 tablespoons of lemon (can be replaced with vinegar)

1 tablespoon of oregano

1 teaspoon of sweet paprika powder

3-4 teaspoons of salt (or to taste)

1 teaspoon of pepper

Execution:

You get any meat you like, chicken or pork. You must turn on the oven to 200 degrees and let it heat up for about a quarter to half an hour. Cut the potatoes in small pieces, so they can be easily cooked. Put them in a medium pan for roasting and add the small pieces of garlic here and there. Then you take a medium round bowl: add the oil, the salt, the pepper, the honey, the tablespoons of vinegar and mustard, the paprika, along with oregano. Mix them very well with a fork or spoon. Now take the pan with the potatoes and put the meat on top of them, pour the mixture from the bowl all over the ingredients. Rub the mixture all over the meat and the potatoes to make sure it covered all. Open the oven and put the pan in. Now lower the oven to 180 degrees. Roast it for an hour.

Serve with some nice Greek salad with feta!

Good luck and enjoy!
